In seiner multidisziplinären Praxis überschreitet Özgür Kar traditionelle Genregrenzen, verbindet Video, Skulptur, Animation und Klang zu raumgreifenden Installationen. Seine Werke umkreisen existenzielle Erfahrungen wie Einsamkeit, Sehnsucht und Unsicherheit. Für Kar ist Video kein kinematografisches, sondern ein skulpturales Medium. Indem er verschiedene kulturelle Ausdrucksformen – wie Theater, Bewegtbild und Zeichnung – zusammenführt, verdichtet er gegensätzliche Emotionen zu einer reduzierten Bildsprache, die zwischen Groteske und Zärtlichkeit changiert.
